Dear all,

first of all: many thanks for your amazing work with ExifTool bringing the joy of proper metadata to everyone dealing with digital images  :)

I am using Immich (https://immich.app) which uses ExifTool as well. I filed a bug because Immich does not set the LargeFileSupport flag when executing ExifTool. The question arose, which considerations have to be taken into account when setting the flag. Can anyone help answering that question?

Many thanks and best wishes from Germany

I use LargeFileSupport whenever dealing with movies (or with images in the mix). No harm always using it except the command is then slightly longer.

Enabling LargeFileSupport on older systems may cause a runtime error.  But those older systems are not very common nowadays.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

* Did you read FAQ #3 and use the command listed there?
* Please use the Code button for exiftool code/output.

* Please include your OS, Exiftool version, and type of file you're processing (MP4, JPG, etc).
