12.0 stuck in (-k) mode

latest version of executable for windows 12.0 does a -k even when the -k is not included in the .exe filename.

I can't think of a way to do this unless you are executing a batch file or shortcut by accident.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

Sorry, it must be something in my exiftool parameters that is screwing things up. I don't get this error with my other well-worn exiftool batch programs.
