Was trying to look up some info about ID3 tags, here:

https://exiftool.org/TagNames/ID3.html

I thought there might be some merit in perusing the official specification, given as the following URL on your page above:

https://id3.org/

That site appears to no longer exist — it returns a 500 Internal Server Error. Anybody know if there's a new official source? There are plenty of related links when I google for ID3, but none of them look particularly like an official source.

And YES, I've already noted the opinion offered in several posts to this forum that the ID3 specification was written by idiots.  :-)

As for most websites you can use the "Wayback Machine" which crawles websites in its own archive:

It looks like the site went down sometime between December 24, 2022 and January 10, 2023.

The Internet Archive (aka Wayback Machine) has an excellent browser extension.  I've gotten into the habit of making sure it records any link in which I have an interest.
* Did you read FAQ #3 and use the command listed there?
* Please use the Code button for exiftool code/output.

* Please include your OS, Exiftool version, and type of file you're processing (MP4, JPG, etc).

Thanks, both of you. Was already aware of Wayback Machine, although hadn't thought about looking there yet — but really, my reasons for posting were to call attention to the dead link on the ID3 tags page, and to ask if anybody was aware of an actual official new home for the specification.

Was not previously aware of that browser extension, which is cool. Might have some use for that. Thanks for the tip.
