The best solution is to use CMD, not PowerShell.

See this post.  The highlighting means different things in PowerShell.  But even then, as shown in that post, with the highlighting all the same color, a standard exiftool command still doesn't work.

PowerShell will also corrupt binary data like when extract thumbnails from a file.

I have a list of several other PS problems around here someplace.
