Title: Fuji X-T30 Scene Recognition in Auto Mode
Post by: greybeard on December 04, 2019, 09:46:28 AM
Tag 0x1425 Scene Recognition

When the FujiFilm X-T30 (and probably others in the series) are switched to full Auto Mode and the Scene Position is set to SR+ the camera attempts to recognize the scene and set the exposure based on that scene.

According to the manual the following scenes are available:  Auto, Landscape, Night, Night (Tripod), Macro, Beach, Sunset, Snow, Sky, Greenery, SKy and Greenery, Portrait, Backlit Portrait, Moving Object, Portrait and Motion, Backlit Portrait and Motion.

It seems as though many of these scenes are reported as landscape even though the camera shows the correct icon when the shot is taken.

I have examples where the camera reported Sky, Greenery and Motion - and combinations of these - but the EXIF always reports Landscape.

This is still a work in progress but the only two additional values I have seen in the EXIF are:

0x103 Night Portrait
0x105 Backlit Portrait

When the camera reports "Auto" Exiftool currently reports "Unrecognized" which is probably OK.

Thanks.

I'll add the 2 new modes (0x103 and 0x105).
