Hello,
I am a complete beginner with ExifTool and also not a programer, but I hope you can help me with my problem anyway.
I want to use ExifTool for one purpose only, to change the dates of my files. I already figured out, how to do that, using the ExifTool GUI and there the "ExifTool direct" section.
I use this command for videos:
-r -File:FileCreateDate<QuickTime:CreateDate
...and this one for photographs:
-r -File:FileCreateDate<Exif:CreateDate
This works perfectly fine, if I am using it directly onto the pictures, I mean if I navigate to the folder they are in and choose just all of the files.
But I have a lot of folders, that's why I tried to use the "-r"-part to also include subfolders.
If I try to change the files, while on a folder on a higher level now and start the command, it starts the process correctly and also starts counting down the files it found, but after a few seconds it always stops working.
Does anybody have an idea what is happening and why it stops working?
Greetings
Hi Evelin,
I just now read your post. Meanwhile I have updated ExiftoolGui. Please try with the latest version. It could solve your issue.
