Title: XMP Auxiliary - Approximate Focus Distance decoded value
Post by: blue-j on March 18, 2024, 02:47:18 PM
After some serious research, I've come to agree with the determination of this post:

https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-343636-1.html#5767274 (https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-343636-1.html#5767274)

Hereby and henceforth, i propose that for the value of "4294967295" in xmp-aux approximatefocusdistance be decoded as "Infinity."  that value is very common.

what say ye?

OK.  I'll do that.  Note that the more natural way to store infinity in a rational value is 1/0, which is what ExifTool writes if you set the value to "inf".  But I'll add a special case for 4294967295 to be converted to/from "infinity".
