Title: Extract frame from iphone video MOV with gps
Post by: Sid on October 14, 2024, 04:41:23 AM
Apologies if this has been asked before.

I'm currently trying to extract a video shot on my iPhone (MOV format with GPS data — I can view it through the Photos app on my Mac) into multiple images with GPS. My question is:
- Is there any feasible way to do this? Additionally, is there a method to automatically attach GPS data to each extracted image?

Here are my video : LINK (https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/25pm60sk6zieyn0lhoq73/AE_rYHEzQJiqRNnZ6byHOiM?e=2&fbclid=IwY2xjawF5QX9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHebvHJRXnn9eO_Jwuy9y2KfXHLplX06NJhXhqKB2CXGSB85os_URGkxFKQ_aem_DvWWHHH37w-c7OOyxS2ciQ&preview=BERTH+EDGE+1.mov&rlkey=i1b8281jf7w830bxav1lvjrnk&st=zctjqo8j&dl=0)

Thank you all for your help in advance!

Hi Sid,

I have looked at your sample in detail and I'm pretty sure it doesn't contain GPS data.  Either it was stripped from the file you exported, or it is contained in a separate file that you didn't upload.

The only timed metadata in this video is SceneIlluminance in milli-lux which will be decoded by ExifTool 12.99 and later.
