Title: Casio EX-S12 Home Town City Tag
Post by: cjfaulk on September 01, 2010, 01:42:17 PM
I am working with some jgegs taken with a Casio EX-S12.  One of the tags is "Home Town City" and the value is Los Angeles.  I have not seen this before in EXIFtool.  Is this value obtained from the camera' s settings or is EXIFtool reading my computer date/time settings for this value which is also PDT. I am researching the issue but would appreciate any info from the forum.
Thanks
Chuck

Hi Chuck,

This value is stored in the JPEG images written by the camera.  It is likely there is a setting somewhere in the camera to change this.

Thanks Phil,
That is what I thought.  I have the same make/model camera and will be testing it later today.  This will probably go to litigation so I want to test and vaildiate my findings.  Thanks again and thanks for a great app.
