Lumix G 20mm F1.7 Asph.
AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED
The first lens starts with the name of the maker. The other two do not start with the maker (Panasonic, Nikon). Is this just the way it is, or is there a "pattern" ?
This is just the way things evolved. To me, "Nikon Nikkor" seems redundant because all of their lenses are Nikkor, but I don't have a similar rationale for the Panasonic lenses. When doing the initial coding for each make I am heavily influenced by the manufacturer's and camera owner's terminology, which is not necessarily consistent between brands.
To make matters worse, I have no control over lens names which are derived from string values, and there is little or no consistency in these.
