Title: Exif in different image formats
Post by: evilaro on December 29, 2010, 03:56:03 PM

Hi:

I have tried to add/changd the Orientation tag on a .BMP file and it tells me that it is not accepted.

.JPG and .TIF seem OK.

Where could I find a list of formats that Do-Dont?

Thanks

Emilio

Hi Emilio,

That is not a simple list.  However, you can get an idea of the meta information formats supported by the various formats by following the links from the supported  file formats (https://exiftool.org/index.html#supported) list on the ExifTool home page.

Hi,

FWIW, .BMP is a rather simple file format with fixed metadata and I am pretty sure that it does not support orientation.
