Title: Warning: Unrecognized Nikon Capture Data header

Having decided to update erroneous timezone data, I got this on the raw files I had created with NikonviewNX2

alan@coprolith:nikon_01_disk_08$ exiftool -nikon:timezone#=180 *nef
Warning: Unrecognized Nikon Capture Data header - ahc_0143_2.nef
Warning: Unrecognized Nikon Capture Data header - ahc_0144_2.nef

Presumably it is not very important but is there anything I can do to find the unrecognized data to make it better?

Hi Alan,

What version of exiftool and Nikon Capture are you using?

If the exiftool is current, could you email a sample image to me (philharvey66 at gmail.com) so I can take a look?

Exiftool version 8.50
Nikon ViewNX 2 version 2.1.1 on a Mac.

Try ExifTool version 8.56.  I updated the decoding of NikonCapture information in this version (and I can't remember if I changed anything with respect to recognizing the header).

I'm pretty sure I tested Capture NX 2.1.1 and didn't see this problem.

I was thinking I should have waited before sending you the 24 MB file but v8.56 still gives the warning.
