Hi there. I used version 4.20 today and found that the DateTime equalize function is creating backups of the originals (although I have not specified that I want these), and the DateTimeOriginal is not created at all. Rolling back to 4.19, all was well. I tried toggling the new setting "overwrite original in place" in the Preferences but there was no change to this behaviour.
My photos start with a ModifyDate only - I use the equalize function to create the "CreateDate" and "DateTimeOriginal". I am adding this EXIF data to scanned analogue photos.
