Title: ExifTool 8.64 vs. 8.63
Post by: areohbee on September 20, 2011, 08:10:10 PM
I had one person report that they had to switch from 8.64 to v8.63 to get my ExifMeta Lightroom plugin to work reliably. Same person has failure of GeoSetter which also depends on ExifTool 8.64.

"Non-zero exit code returned by exiftool" was the error message from Lightroom plugin point of view.

There are also others not having such problems (me for example).

Windows OS. dunno details yet - sorry, maybe more info coming...

Hi Rob,

ExifTool will return a non-zero exit code if an error occurs while writing a file or if all files fail the -if condition, but this is also true for ExifTool 8.64.

I see no changes in 8.64 which could account for any differences like this.  I would bet that the problem with this user is a corrupted installation of 8.64 except that you say you have similar problems.

I need more details to be able to help with this.
