Title: MWG Standard of face Recgnation
Post by: FGaertner on September 27, 2011, 12:45:42 AM
Hi Phil,
I have a question regarding the new mwg standard of writing the facerecognation to the picture.

Short explanation: Due to the fact that picasa writes its facerecognation to an ini file I am going to write those information into the picture itself. I know that there are many tools out which does it already, but none of them is open for extensions and improvements. I am writing it in tcl and therefor anybody can modify it when it is finished.

The mwg group has come up with a new standard of writing face recognation into the picture. My question is: Is this standard already implemented into exiftool?
regards
Frank

Hi Frank,

Yes.  See the XMP-mwg tags in the XMP tag name documentation (https://exiftool.org/TagNames/XMP.html#mwg_coll).

Reading Picasa INI files is on my list of things to do, so it is possible that ExifTool will be able to do this conversion at some time in the future.
