Title: ARW known issue - Should I modify my image?
Post by: Gearloose on November 15, 2011, 05:31:37 AM
I need to change the timestamp of ARW and JPG images taken with my Sony A550 camera.
I show that in "known issues" there is a problem with the modified files when read with Adobe applications.
It is not clear to me if the porblem is coused by the ExifTool or the Adobe applications (as I assume that prior to the modification the images are OK with these applications)
Is it safe to perform the operation?

Regards,
N.

As noted in that section: "This bug is fixed in Camera Raw 6.3 and LR 3.3" (or later).  It was an Adobe problem that was fixed at their end.

When you ask "is it safe", it is probably more safe than using Sony software, but to be totally safe I always recommend keeping a backup of your original RAW images.

Thank you Phil for your fast response.
I will give it a try later today (I'm sure that it will be successful  :) )
