Hello,
With ExifToolGui v5.7.0.0, for one picture, how can i easy copy IPTC data to XMP data and why not Exif data in accordance with MWG Composite Tags recommandations ?
In old ExifToolGui version, i have find submenu "Modify XMP : copy data from IPTC".
Thank for the Gui
Bernard
Hi Bernard,
For easy copying metadata from IPTC section to XMP section, please see here:
https://exiftool.org/gui/#p_etdirect
..where you pay attention on (sub) chapter Using args files.
From above, you will recognize, that transferring data that way is simple enough.
MWG workflow... well, for me: Exif data belongs into Exif section, the rest into XMP section and old IPTC section is history -simple as that (https://exiftool.org/gui/articles/where_what.html).

Hi Bogdan,
Thank you for the quick answer.
The use of Args file is wonderful. Now i see how i can easy save olds pictures Iptc data to Xmp format, and make inverse conversion from Xmp to IPTC for new pictures in intention to put in PIWIGO site (http://fr.piwigo.org/), which do not manage XMP now.
I have read your article on "Where and what to save". I understand now the challenge of picture's metadata. Thank You.
Thank you for this Gui version, i love custom power. In example, with customed workspace, the user can himself choice the tag to save country as
Xmp:LocationShownCountryName or as Xmp-photoshop:Country or in two item, it is a wonderful freedom.
Thank you Phil Harvey

Hi Bernard,
Thank YOU for nice words -not all users have recognized Workspace "freedom" initially :)
