Hello, will the ExifTool read gps exif information embedded in MPeg2 video? If so, is there a way to play the video and synchronize it to a google map so a marker will follow the path of the video.. The key would probably be clock time. Hopefully the google map api would be of use.
An application that does this function is the Russian trans siberian railway application. Users can select a section of railway track video to view and a nice google map application follows along the path of the video. Thanks
ExifTool currently only extracts GPS like this from M2TS videos. But if you email me a sample I'll see if it is possible to decode this from an MPeg2. My email is philharvey66 at gmail.com

Thanks for the sample. I think I can see where the GPS information is stored, but it may take a bit of work to parse the MPEG2 video stream to extract this properly.

Ok thanks for looking at it. I thought that the ExifTool might have had this functionality built into it.. Some Sony and Contour video cameras use this format so it may become more popular in the future.
