Title: reading and writing DICOM info from a JPEG
Post by: pedroparamo on December 13, 2012, 10:53:18 AM
How can I read DICOM tags in a JPEG?  When I use

exiftool -a -u -g1

I don't see them.  From looking at the documentation, I gather that ExifTool cannot write DICOM tags.  Any suggestions for an application to write DICOM tags?

Thanks.

Hi Peter,

I think you are talking about the new DICOM XMP tags (https://exiftool.org/TagNames/XMP.html#DICOM), not the DICOM-format ones (https://exiftool.org/TagNames/DICOM.html).  (Confusing, I know, but since you're talking about JPEG images you must be talking about the newer XMP ones.)

ExifTool can write the DICOM XMP tags.
