Just downloaded ExifTool, and it's awesome. I was looking for the total shutter actuations for a Canon EOS 6D. I don't see any field that seems to fit this description. Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something, or if this information just isn't available?
Thanks!
It is possible that it isn't there, but I couldn't say for sure without analyzing a series of 6D images (which I can't really do until I get back from vacation next week).

No problem - thank you!
There was a field called "File index", which matched what I thought should be the shutter actuations, but I thought it sounded more likely to be just something related to the image file number.
No worries anyway. Enjoy your vacation!
Yes. You should be able to reset the FileIndex to zero via the menus somehow. Also, it will probably jump ahead if you insert a memory card with a high-numbered image then take a new picture.

Phil, i had my sensor replaced few months ago. This should have set back the counter to 0. I could send before and after pic to compare. Unfortunately its sony a55 not canon.
LKB: That would be interesting. You can send the before/after pics to philharvey66 at gmail.com
Thanks.

Hi Phil,
Apologies for delay but I had viva to attend. Each file is 16MB so I decided to place them on the dropbox and send U links instead.
After image seems to be taken ~ 387 after the replacement. Before was shoot 10-15 shoots before my camera gave last breath.
LKB: Thanks for these samples!
