Title: Apple Aperture Custom Fields
Post by: martinw on August 22, 2013, 01:34:51 AM
I have a huge amount of photos in Apple Aperture to which I have added custom fields such as "Species Name'. I now want to export these images with this metadata embedded so that I can upload the images to a DAM system. The issue however is that Aperture will not export images with Custom Fields. Unfortunately for me it will only export metadata in Exif or IPTC fields. I am totally new to Exiftool and want to know if it could be used to remap my custom field data to Exif fields

Thanks

If the information is in the image, then the answer is yes.  But if Aperture stores this in its own database, then the answer is no.

How can I test to find out if the Aperture Custom Fields data is in the image or in Aperture's database?

Run exiftool on one of the images and see if the information is there.
