Good day,
I am totally lost in here, but am using EXIFTool GUI to view DNG and Jpeg metadata re photos from my new Pentax K-3.
In recent shots, I set my SR (shake reduction) on, and it shows this - says ShakeReduction On(7), but all photos show SRResult Not stabilized.
Having serious problems with consistent in-focus/sharp photos, especially action type, with previously used Pentax techniques that produced sharp photos before. So, obviously, need to know if SR is actually working, even 'tho camera says it is (white hand/green hex displayed).
I suspect EXIFTool is not reading this data for this camera, but have no way of knowing.
I am computer illiterate and have not idea what command line to use to bypass GUI, and don't know if the GUI assistance is preventing the SR metadata display, or if EXIFTool is currently not able to display this particular piece of data.
Here's the export:
SRResult : Not stabilized
ShakeReduction : On (7)
Comments? Thanks in advance for your help.
Decoding of the K-3 ShakeReduction was improved in version 9.42.
The SRResult doesn't seem to be valid for the K-3, and will be removed in 9.43 until someone figures out if this is stored somewhere else.

Yep seems the same everywhere: I have not seen a single picture with SR result other than "not stabilized".
Question:
Can it be that you also removed the tags "SR Half Press Time" and "SR Focal Length"?
For the K-5's exiftool did display these values, but for a K-3 exiftool 9.42 doesnt.
I looked into this. The "SRInfo" data is only 2 bytes for the K-3, but 4 bytes for all other models (well, not quite true, it is also 2 bytes for the Optio A10, A20, A30 and A40, but the K-3 is the only DSLR). So the bytes that normally hold SRHalfPressTime and SRFocalLength are missing from the K-3 metadata. It isn't a change to ExifTool that removed these.
