Title: .x3f file helpful from Sigma DP2-Quattro with Foveon sensor?
Post by: l_d_allan on August 15, 2014, 07:56:31 AM
Thanks for your efforts to develop, maintain, and support ExifTool.

I attempted to use the older, ExifToolGui to look at the "Maker's" info, but got a warning that .x3f was unsupported, and to provide a sample file to ExifTool.

Here's a link to a .x3f file (large ... ~53MB):

Hope I'm not being an AskHole (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jay-platt/askhole-_b_4866711.html), but is there a command line for ExifTool 9.69 to get this info out of .x3f files. I'm interested in which specific settings were in use, such as "Overexposure Correction" ON/OFF and "Tone Quality" OFF/MILD/STRONG. I'm attempting to use the RawDigger utility to understand if ETTR is appropriate with this camera.

You should be able to use a recent version of ExifTool with your ExifToolGUI.  Version 9.67 or later should be able to deal with the new Quattro X3F files.

But you may have to enable unknown tags to see the information you are looking for (I think you should be able to do this via ExifToolGUI).  If you discover the meanings of any unknown tags, please let me know.
