Title: ILCA-77m2 exifcount incorrect
Post by: JaapPol on April 02, 2015, 01:42:56 PM
Hello,

Today i checked the shuttercount on a raw-file of my A77ii here (http://tools.science.si/index.php (http://tools.science.si/index.php)). It said the count was 756, but that is not correct, it should be 2000. I just bought my camera, and i never reset the counter. I uploaded the file with number 2000, so the shuttercount should read 2000.

I would be happy to supply some (consecutive) ARW-files if you want to fix this, you can e-mail me.

With regards,
Jaap

Hi Jaap,

If that web page reports a ShutterCount, then it is using an old version of ExifTool.  I don't think the A77ii stores a shutter count.  The current version of ExifTool extracts only an ImageCount, which is not the same thing.  In fact, I don't really know what the ImageCount represents.
