Title: Differing valies for "Height" and "Source Height"
Post by: ben@bbarker.co.uk on November 05, 2015, 07:09:24 AM
Hi,
Does anyone know the difference between "Source Image Width/Height" and "Image Width/Height"...?
I have often seen them differ slightly - either in X, Y, or both, when checking the tags on images - but on the face of it I would expect them to be the same...

ImageWidth/ImageHeight should be the actual dimensions of the rendered image.  For movies, this may be different from the stored image resolution (the source dimensions).

So is this a case of the source creating the file with erroneous exif info...or keeping a record of what the original source resolution was prior to any scaling that might have later been applied...?

I think for videos that this is due to the stored image being a different resolution or aspect ratio.
