Hi,
I dicovered that there is an translation error related to the word "Country".
In ExifTool "Country" is translated to the German word "Staat", which is completely incorrect.
"Staat" is not a geographic term. It means "state" in a political sense and always abstract. For this "Staat" can never be used to describe a territory.
The correct word "Land" has to be used instead.
Example:
"Martinique" -> ISO Country-code: MTQ / Country: Martinique / political state ("Staat"): France
"Falkland Islands" -> ISO Country-code: FLK / Country: Falkland Is. / political state ("Staat"): United Kingdom
The ISO-code (which is for graphical areas) is called in German "Ländercode" or "Landescode" (the latter translation is used in ExifTool) and it's not called "Staatencode" ("code of political states").
So the following expressions need to be changed in "de.pm" (line numbers as given in ExifTool v10.52)
line 2334: 'Country' => 'Land',
line 2336: 'Country-PrimaryLocationName' => 'Land'
I recommend changing "ISO-Landescode" (line 2335) to "ISO-Ländercode" as it is more spread. (Google search result: "ISO-Landescode" -> ~3,700 matches / "ISO-Ländercode" -> ~47,000 matches)
The German translation file contains many times the word "Crop", which is neither German nor in any other way used. Every occurrence of "Crop" should be exchanged with "Ausschnitt".
Also the word "Inch" (unit) should be changed to "Zoll" in German.
In the translation there are 22x "An" and 179x "Ein" used for English "On". The German meanings of "Ein" and "An" are identical but for the matter of unification I recommend only to use either "Ein" or "An".
