Title: [Solved] Can't extract GPS data from video
Post by: bugmenot on September 04, 2020, 08:48:58 PM
I'm trying to extract GPS data from a video file generated by a Blackvue camera, is supported (https://exiftool.org/forum/index.php?topic=10058.msg52325).  But for some reason the format isn't recognized

exiftool -ver
12.05
exiftool -ee -p gpx.fmt 20200904_150841_NR.mp4
gpx.fmt
gpx.fmt
gpx.fmt
gpx.fmt
gpx.fmt
...

OS is Windows 10

Have you downloaded or created the gpx.fmt file and placed it in the current directory or given the full directory path to the file?

If not, you can copy/paste it from here (https://exiftool.org/geotag.html#Inverse) or download it from GitHub (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/exiftool/exiftool/master/fmt_files/gpx.fmt).

Did not know that was necessary.  It works now, thank you!
