Admin can delete this topic, I finally found something on Google and it appears it may be a bug.
As I make changes to the metadata for my images, it appears some update right away in LightRoom and others haven't updated yet.
I will perform an exif command, then I verify that it is showing in the metadata with a command such as: exiftool -a filename
then I right click the folder in LR and select synchronize, tell it to scan for metadata updates.
after it completes its scan the metadata tab at the top of the library window still shows Unknown Camera and the metadata section on the right menu is not reflecting any change.
Anyone else using LR experiencing a similar issue.
