I'm using a Sigma 50-500mm lens on my Maxxum 7D body. This records the various focal lengths between 50 and 500mm (35mm equiv. - actual 75-750mm) in the exif data. When I use either the 1.4x or 2.0x tele-converters the same focul length is being recorded. It looks like there is no way to tell from the meta data that the extenders were in use. I just wanted to check to see if this is indeed true or whether I missed some small piece of data that would indicate theit usage.
Thanks.

I took a look at my Maxxum 7D sample, and it doesn't look like the tele-converter information is currently being decoded. However, there are a number of unknown Minolta tags, and there is a chance that they may contain this information (0x0010, 0x0018, 0x0020, etc). So in the future, this information might be available. Or if you want to investigate this yourself, use the -v3 option and compare the hex dump for these tags in images with and without your tele-converters. I rely on Minolta users to discover information such as this since I don't have a Minolta camera myself to test.
