Hello,

I'm trying to add 3 years, 2 months, 3 days, 8 hours to a directory with a single test file. When I run the following, it gives an error and only adds 3 hours, 2 minutes, 3 seconds to the time (YMD not changed).

Here is cut&paste of error symptom:

exiftool -AllDates+='3:2:3 8:0:0' DIR

Error: Error opening file -8:0:0'

    1 directories scanned

    1 image files updated

1 files weren't updated due to errors

TIA for help - This latest revision of ExifTool came out in perfect timing for something I've been putting off for a while.

The documentation mentions that if you're running on Windows you need to use double-quotes instead of the single-quotes used in the examples. Could that be the problem?

Yes, the problem is in the way your shell is handling the quotes.  Try double quoting the full argument.
