When I import Nikon raw files (NEF) using Downloader Pro, DLPro creates .XMP sidecar files. I process the NEF files through Nikon Capture, which ignores the .XMP files, and creates TIFF files.
I would like to merge the data from the original .XMP files into the new TIFF files.
Can I do that with EXIFTool (Windows executable version)? If so, how? (I am new to EXIFTool.)
Or do I have to write a PERL script? If so, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Guy

exiftool -v1 -tagsfromfile D200_7448.xmp D200_7448.tif
...
Error: [minor] NikonScan IFD has zero entries - D200_7448.tif
0 image files updated
1 files weren't updated due to errors
Is there a way to eliminate the NikonScan IFD error without bypassing all warnings by using -m?

Hi Guy,
The -m only bypasses minor warnings. In general, these are warnings from problems in the makernotes.
Currently there is no way other than using -m to force a file with minor errors to be written.
