Hi Phil;
the exif data of Pentax RAW-files does not store any value for the ISO tag. There are equivalents in the maker notes section, like AE_ISO or ISOFloor. Unfortunately copying one of these to the Exif:ISO tag does not work, probably because the tags seem to have different formats: int8u vs. int16u. Any idea how i could manage to get the ISOFloor value into the ISO tag?

There are 3 things I am confused about by your post:
1) The K10D does store EXIF ISO in both PEF and DNG images.
2) ExifTool translates between different formats, so "-iso<isofloor" should
work fine.
3) ISOFloor is the minimum ISO of the ISO range that you have set, and
isn't necessarily the ISO that was used for the image (particularly in
low light conditions).

Dear Phil,
you are absolutely right! Sorry for the confusion but I overlooked the ISO value in the PEF while looking at exiftool. I am using XnView as well and thats where the problem seems to be.
Thanks anyway!

Hi Phil,
another question: is the Exif:ISO tag really the same with JPG- and PEF-files? With the windows standalone version I just tried the following command (*.jpg + *.PEF):
exiftool "-exif:ISO=3200" -overwrite_original *.jpg
The JPGs show the altered ISO afterwards in exiftool. Not so the PEF-files, eventhough exiftool showed the message "... files updated". Any idea?
