Hi,

I was trying to move and update original jpg file with new one but can't do for error as below.

Code:
M:exiftool -o "-Directory<DateTimeOriginal" -d %Y/%m .

Error: Error creating file: -Directory<DateTimeOriginal - ./IMG-200702-0130.jpg
    1 directories scanned
    0 image files updated
1 files weren't updated due to errors

Is there any way to exiftool to overwrite existing file rather than reporting error and stop working?

The error is because the -o option expects a filename.
Remove the -o and try again.

Sorry, I cut&pasted wrong command.
I removed -o option and tried, it works well when there's no file exist at target directory, but when the file exist at target directory, it shows me such error message.

What I'd like to do is to update original jpg file at target directory.
Please advise me how to UPDATE orignial jpg file.

Thanks

It seems you want to overwrite an existing file since you
are setting the Directory tag (which moves a file), but
exiftool will not overwrite another existing file like this.
