Hi!

I'm making .xmp-files using the following command in an autohotkey script file:

Code:
RunWait exiftool %filename%.%RawType% -o  %filename%.xmp "-PelleTag1_md5sum=%md5sum%" "-Instructions=%vuseInstructions%" "-Rights=%vRights%" "-CreatorWorkEmail=%vCreatorWorkEmail%" "-copyright=%vuseCopyright%"

-Copyright and -rights tags can contain characters from the Swedish alphabet, which has three extra characters compared to English: ä, å, and ö. In the .xmp-file they come out as question marks ('?').

I've tried using the -charset option, but couldn't get it to work.

Anybody has any ideas of what I'm missing?

Thanks,

/Pär

The easiest way to get this to work is to use UTF-8 encoding
for your script file.  However, whether or not this is possible
really depends on autohotkey, with which I have no experience.

Basically, all you need to do figure out how to get the special
characters into the exiftool command line.  You can use any
encoding you want and it will work provided you specify the
correct exiftool -charset setting.

I suggest you take a step back and get this working directly
from the command line before trying to get it working in
an autohotkey script.  This will allow you to separate any
problems involved with the script encoding.
