[Originally posted by redswan on 2009-10-24 13:29:03-07]Hello,
I have created an .arg file containing the following :
-k
-if
$model eq "Canon DIGITAL IXUS 70"
-if
$autorotate ne "None"
-filename
-all=
-tagsfromfile
@
-all:all
-unsafe
What I'm trying to do is rebuild the metadata for all images taken with a specific model where the autorotate is not 0 and to list the files concerned. The rebuild appears to happen correctly but the filename is not printed!
I am using exiftool on Windows XP SP3.
Help for a beginner in exif manipulation would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris

Hello again,
I have just found that adding the -v0 option outputs the names of the files treated. So this is a work around.
I'm still puzzled though why the -filename in my original example doesn't output the tag's value.

So your attempt to extract the filename doesn't work when writing.
I plan to add a warning for superfluous tag names on the command
line to make this a bit more obvious. Look for this improvement
in the next release.
