Hi!

I think the problem is the "writingprotection" which I have on my Exended Disk and will not disappear.

I use the GUI and I like to change the Author in mp3 files which I produces with "free audio Converter" (bonk).

XP, newest Exiftool, newest Exif GUI.

Hi Carsten,

As far I know, Exiftool can show mp3 metadata, but doesn't write that data:
http://www.exiftool.org/TagNames/MPEG.html#Audio
-here, tags are marked as N(ot) writable.

But I tryed to change the Artist.

I understand. But ExifTool can't change Artist tag inside MP3 -it can do that only for (Exif) photo files.
To change metadata inside MP3 files, you might try WinAmp or Mp3tag tool.

Reading the mp3 tags is nice! Thank you.
It would be perfect, if we could write it too. Especially the id3v2.3-version.
