Title: Recording Pitch and Roll into exif
Post by: jmichaelfay on April 28, 2012, 01:46:03 PM
Hello,

I am buying a Nikon D800 and a Solmeta GPS Pro device.  The Solmeta records directly long, lat, altitude and compass bearing to exif. It is also capable of recording pitch and roll to the unit but not exif.  I am wondering if with exiftool I could do that post-facto.  How would I know the exact pitch and roll at the exact time the camera takes picture.

See the sample config file (https://exiftool.org/config.html) for an example of how to create the user-defined GPSPitch and GPSRoll tags.

Then, the -geotag option may be used to read GPS log files and write to images.  I'm not sure whether it works with Solmeta logs, but if it doesn't, post a log and I'll add the ability (as long as it isn't some very weird proprietary format).
