I am new to this forum, thanks for letting me in.
My name is Boris and I live in Australia.
I am an engineer, retired.
Now, the problem.
I have recently returned from a trip to North America and brought back a whole lot of photos.
Of course, I did not reset the camera to local time.
Now all the photos show the wrong time in the right lower corner.
I found it quite easy to shift the time in the file using ExifToolGUI.
But, no matter what I do, the picture still shows the original date. :(
Looks as I have got something wrong.
Could you tell me what is it and how to fix it?

Hi Boris,
It sounds like you are talking about a timestamp on the image itself. ExifTool does not modify the image, so it won't help here. The only thing that will help is image editing software. You could use the clone tool to remove the timestamp, and the text tool to write back the correct one. But this would be extremely tedious for a number of images.

Sorry, I only know how to do it one at a time with Photoshop or something like that.

Now I can get on with my life, but remove the timestamping from the camera.
It looks like it is much easier to put it on the image, if needed, later.
