Hi:
I have a option on my aplication, to allow users to see their
images.
"IF" they put a note, I would like to include the note into the image file...
BUT, I would not like to use any place where it could be used for something else
or have a conflict with any place that normally it is in use, or that could be used.
Is there a way to put it 'let say TAG 1234abc' = "Hi, this is my note"
And that do not disturb anybody.
In the case this is not possible, What would be the best place to see, modify and use
this Note, Text, Comment or description ?
Thanks
Emilio
Hi Emilio,
You can create a user-defined XMP tag. This way you are guaranteed that you won't conflict with existing tags. Then you only have the problem that some applications will ignore IPTC if XMP exists.

Hi Phil:
I knew it was not going to be easy... ;)
So back to the basic question...
IF I want to put a title, description, comment
on the IPTC, nothing very serious, not a
very precise TAG, something like
'Dad and I walking on the beach'
Where would you put it ;)
Thanks
Emilio

IPTC, or XMP? If you don't want to create a user-defined tag, try browsing the Tag Name documentation (https://exiftool.org/TagNames/index.html) to pick one that you like.

Phil:
Thanks, I will go IPTC...
I see there are a lot of tags to use choose from ;)
