Title: "XMP block too large for JPEG segment" when rewriting metadata
Post by: johnrellis on May 01, 2015, 09:25:48 PM
When I try to rewrite a JPEG's metadata using this command line:

exiftool -m -all= -tagsfromfile @ -all:all -unsafe extendedxmp.jpg

I get the following error message:

Warning: XMP block too large for JPEG segment! (175567 bytes)

Does Exiftool (9.93) not handle APP1 Extended XMP segments in this case?

Thanks!!  And thanks for the sample!

This bug occurs when deleting all metadata and copying back in one step.  I'll look into this right away, and the fix will likely be done in time for the 9.94 release later today or tomorrow.
