Title: Pentax temperature tags
Post by: Beholder3 on August 25, 2015, 03:52:09 PM
I have just measured the sensor temperature of my Pentax K-3 camera using an infrared camera.

From comparing measurements with the makernotes tags I think I can suggest that the Pentax makernotes 0x000c "Camera Temperature 2" and 0x000e"Camera Temperature 3" tags should be renamed to "Sensor temperature 1" and "Sensor temperature 2" as they quite precisely reflect the sensor measurements from outside.
The 0x0047 "Camera temperature" tag (the first one) seems to be a "Camera chassis temperature" as it rises much more slowly and also cools of more slowly with a delay.

WOW!  I am very impressed!!!

I was thinking that it would be very difficult to verify the location of these temperature sensors, and that it would never get done.  But you have done it!!  Impressive.

Thanks!
