I've installed the GUI and use it quite a bit.
I've placed the exiftool.exe file in my path (windows, SysWOW64 etc (on WIndows 10
But after either exiftoolgui or some other application changes the system directory, I get an error 'ExifTool unavailable' and functionality ceases until I exit and start again.
I've placed exiftool everywhere. I have exiftool and exiftoolgui installed into c:\exiftoolgui
I've tried changing the start in directory.
Any clues as to why it fails to find the exiftool only occasionally?

Got me beat. It stops working and I have to close out and start again. It only lasts one EXIF update.

I ran into this problem this morning after downloading the files. My first mistake was not to rename the (-k) command line tool. I did that, but I also copied that file to the folder where I'd put the GUI version. After that, the GUI version worked fine. Not sure if that was the solution, but it worked for me. :-)
