Title: MPImage2 not extracting from MPOs on Windows 10
Post by: Aplonis on August 27, 2017, 01:57:41 PM
When I run either of these commands on an MPO from a FujiFilm W3 stereo photo, I always get the same (left?) image....

exiftool.exe -o L.jpg foo.mpo
exiftool.exe -MPImage2 -o R.jpg foo.mpo

For an experiment, I also tried this absurd command...

exiftool.exe -MPImage7 -o Q.jpg foo.mpo

... and still got the same image. The same as L and R even though there should be only two images in an MPO from a W3.

Using ExifTool version 10.61 on Windows 10 Pro (Edition 1703, Build 15063.540)

exiftool.exe -o L.jpg foo.mpo

This will give you a copy of the mpo image, the main JPEG of which is one side of the stereoscopic image.

Quoteexiftool.exe -MPImage2 -o R.jpg foo.mpo

This command will do the same thing (the -o option specifies an output filename for the edited file, so the main image stays the same).  Try this:

exiftool.exe -MPImage2 -b foo.mpo > R.jpg
