Title: Correcting wrong dates of image files
Post by: Alex314 on October 27, 2018, 08:09:45 AM
Two months ago I inadvertently changed the year setting in my Sony RX100M4 camera to 2019 while I was setting the exact time. As a result I have multiple images showing the wrong year when I view them in Adobe Lightroom Classic. Although I found several command line examples of how to reset the Date Time tags, nothing worked really well. I tried:
exiftool -alldates="18-9-2018 12:03:45" -datetime="18-9-2018 12:03:45" "D:\Foto's\Sony RX100M4\Fout jaar\ARW\DSC01259.ARW"
with partial success. But Lightroom still shows "2019" in Date Time Original, Date Time Digitized, Date Time, and Date Created.
What would be the correct command?
Thank you.

See FAQ #5 (https://exiftool.org/faq.html#Q5) for the proper way to format date/time stamps.

Thank you StarGeek. That helped, and all the wrong dates have been set right.
