Hello,
I have updated all my files to add gpsaltitude with the following command:
exiftool -charset filename=cp1252 -exif:gpsaltitude=xxx filename.
All files have been updated, but in some files all existing tags (keywords, categories, other gps tags, user defined tags etc) are deleted. Only gpsaltitude is present.

I think that something else is going on here.

If you attach a sample file, before and after the command, we can help you to understand what is happening.

My guess is that the file doesn't have these other tags to begin with.

You're right. The files had no tags because autosynchron in Daminion was switched off. Forget the request.
