XMP Date

How to set the below Date value in XMP Metadata, I have tried using -xmp:date command but only the first date has applied.

1868-01-07-1970-12-31

How to assign this value as mentioned format.

This seems related to this thread, though it was about Darwin Core, not Dublin Core.  At the time, Phil said

OK.  Other tags do support a time interval.  For now I won't add support for time intervals.

So at the moment, it doesn't look like exiftool supports a range.  Phil will have to weigh in on this on.
