Sorry to post here, but need to start somewhere  :D ....

I have start using the Java wrapper lib https://github.com/mjeanroy/exiftool#readme

The lib works just fine, especially the stay open function is excellent for performance when you need to make many calls in a row...

It would have been interesting to be able to discuss improvements (eg being able to output json) as well as discussing how to submit ExifToolOptions....

(see the project was updated 8 months ago after a number of years without updates, i think the need for such libraries like this is needed...)

I would first try to open a github issue in that project to see if you got a response.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

Thank You Phil for moving this post, the ExifTool wrapper lib actually works real fine, so fine that it should need some more love   :D
