Am I imagining it or has the behaviour of the forum changed?

I generally click on the "Unread Posts" button to see any recent activity but it no longer appears to show all recent posts.

For example this morning it tells me there has been no activity but there is something posted over night in the Newbies section.

Things stop working when the server load average gets too high.  The server has 128 processors, and I had set these features to automatically disable themselves if the load average gets to 128 (one job per processor).  Currently the load average is 101, so it is likely that this was above 128 when you tried.  I've increased these settings to 256, and hopefully this will make things better here without causing too much load on the server.

Things were so nice when we first moved to this new server, but now it is starting to get loaded down, and we have even seen times when the whole forum has been shut down due to loads over 1024.  Other clients on this shared server don't behave very well because nobody should be draining the resources like that.  It was most likely due to a single misbehaving client since the spike was so localized.
