I've been using ExifTool (ET for short) for many years, mainly to align timestamps on photos taken by different cameras and phones.
A few years back I have switched from Photoshop to Capture One application to edit raw images.
Recently I purchased a Panasonic Lumix camera, model DC-TZ220D.
When I tried to import its raw files, the application did not accept the raw files. When I contacted their support, they said that the app has a list of supported camera models and mine is not on the list.
They suggested to use ET to change the model to a supported one, since all the Lumix DC-T/Z models have the same raw format. I did that and it works like a charm.
Here is the command line I use (in PowerShell), invoked in the folder where the raw files reside:
& 'C:\Users\amir\Apps\exiftool-12.92_64\exiftool(-k).exe' -model="DC-TZ220" *.RW2
