Hello All,

Upon running exiftool on some TIF's looking for the -Software tag I'm getting this error...
"Warning: Unrecognized MakerNotes - /path/to/file".

I'm guessing I need to install this "Image::ExifTool::MakerNotes", but can't for the life of me figure out how.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

This message is information only, and indicates that the
format of the proprietary makernotes structure is not
known for this image.  What are the values of the Make
and Model tags?  It is likely that the makernotes for this
model have not yet been decoded.

Thanks for the response Phil...
Here is the data you requested.
Make                            : Phase One A/S
Camera Model Name               : P 45+

So I'm guessing these assets don't have a Software tag?  I'm using this in a script to verify that TIF's have been re saved in CS4.  Thanks again for the help.

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Yes, the Phase One MakerNotes have not yet been decoded.

CS4 will likely delete these makernotes if used to resave the image.

As you mention, the EXIF Software tag may be changed by CS4, and
that is probably the easiest way to check whether the image was
saved in CS4.
